Eric Teichmiller
A Techmeister,
by trade and by nature.
I make things, I write about making them, and somewhere in there I can't stop trying to teach the next person how.
What is a Techmeister?
From the German Meister: "master craftsman; one who has earned the right to teach the trade." There's also the way people actually use the word: "someone who really knows their stuff."
A Techmeister, then, is a generalist who treats technology as a craft. You learn it by using it, you get better at it by making things, and then you pass it forward by teaching. Part apprentice, part instructor. Part maker, part explainer, and honestly never quite done being any of them.
Generalist by trade. Creative by inclination. Teacher by mission.

Where I write and talk about tech, security, and using AI on purpose instead of by accident. Most of it ends up on Substack eventually.

Creates
Photographs, websites, the odd app, and a whole fantasy world called Velruneth. Basically the stuff I make when nobody's asking me to.

About
Twenty-odd years in tech now. Web hosting first, then security, and lately AI has been the thing I can't put down. The whole time, photos and stories happening off to the side. These days I'm trying to pull all of it into one place instead of letting it live in five.
Underneath all of it the thread's been the same one the whole time. Make the thing, work out how it actually fits together, then hand what I learned to whoever's next so they get there faster than I did.
